Explorers

Explorer Scouts are young people, usually aged between 14 and 18 years old. They make up the fourth Section of the Scouting family. There are many types of Explorer Scout Units, ours is strongly linked to our local Scout Group..

The emphasis is on building self-reliance, leadership, self-confidence, organisational skills and team work. Through our meetings and outdoor activities we guide our Explorers, offering experience and support, while they learn how to become responsible adults through the challenging and exciting activities.

Most of our Explorers have come up from the Scout Troop - and many from the Cub Pack before that.

This has brought a whole new spirit of enthusiasm to the group as the new intake and older members alike face up to the new series of challenges from Bronze to Gold Awards.
The Explorer's Summer Canoe Camp report and pictures should be coming soon so watch this space for a link or keep an eye on our News pages.

Watch out too, for "interesting" changes to our web site as the Explorers take up the IT challenge in the coming months and practice what they learn right here!
